Kellogg forgot a a few important things when they touted OJ’s Cereal to kids in the 1980’s:
1) Westerns and Cowboys weren’t popular with kids anymore. In fact they weren’t popular for over a decade.
2) Single colored cereal is boring. In a world of colorful Fruit Loops, Trix, and Lucky Charms, this cereal is nothing more than a boring, lazy fruit loops.
3) Oranges?!!?!? ORANGES?!?!? Come on. If you’re going to sell cereal to a kid, you can’t talk about how it’s supposed to be good for you, like eating fruit. As a secondary note, who on God’s greet earth wants to finish their cereal, only to drink orange flavored milk?

This commercial was a take off on the RAWHIDE tv opening.
Personally I think this cereal was pretty good, and Kellogg’s needs to bring it back. It was fruity and delicious, and I loved the little orange shapes. I still remember this commercial, and I thought it was rather original. Im 35 now, and I still reminisce about that taste. Bring it back!!!!
